Neil Hillman MPSE
Sound Designer, Senior Dubbing Mixer
For 28 years, people all over the world have been listening to Neil Hillman, MPSE - or more precisely, the sound that he produces for television, film and radio. Right now, thanks to syndication and the amazing number of territories that the National Geographic and Discovery channels reach, somewhere in the world someone is listening to sound recorded, edited or mixed by Neil, an invited member of the prestigious US Motion Picture Sound Editors and the UK Association of Motion Picture Sound.
As Managing Director, Neil has steered The Audio Suite towards achieving recognised supplier status to the terrestrial channels of BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and five, as well as the digital National Geographic and Discovery channels.
As a Sound Designer and Dubbing Mixer, Neil's passion for quality and value has now also been brought to bear on delivering unprecedented clarity of sound to Corporate and not-for-broadcast Video and business to business (B2B) communications, through sister companies Suitetalk and SuiteX, utilising the cutting- edge media of Podcasting, Vmail, and Bluetooth Proximity Marketing.
A respected writer on broadcast, as well as recording, postproduction and multimedia audio production, his articles appear each month in Resolution magazine although mainstrean titles such as Top Gear magazine have also carried his words.
When away from his beloved mixing theatre, Neil can be found cheerfully fumbling his way through 'difficult' solos and chords on his collection of classic Fender and Washburn guitars, riding his Honda VFR or Suzuki GT750 motorcycles or racing his Merlin Rocket sailing dinghy - anticipating the day that he can buy a proper sailing boat and use his Yachtmaster qualification to gently slip the mooring on an ebbing tide, and quietly sail away from it all...
