Birmingham Sound Studio Services

We offer full audio post-production in Dolby Digital (5.1) and Dolby Surround (Pro-Logic II) in our Birmingham sound studios, including -

- delivered on the professional medium and format of your choice.

For our SD Television clients this usually means either laying-back to a DigiBeta tape - complete with compliance notes for a Broadcaster's Technical Review process - or more usually, supplying a downloadable, frame-accurate 'Broadcast .WAV' from our Virtual Dubbing Theatre, for laying-back at a client's own choice of picture-editing suite.

HD clients are similarly supplied with 'Broadcast .WAV' 5.1 audio stems, in accordance with any individual broadcaster's delivery requirements.

We advise our SD clients to consider us preparing a 'Music and Effects' track (M&E) at the same time as we create the full mix, to enable the programme to be re-edited at any time in the future, without being constrained by the original commentary. This is often a requirement for overseas sales and can be much more costly to create after the mixing has taken place.

Some programmes for syndication may also require 'DA-88 stems'. This is where a seperate 8-channel audio tape carries the full mix, clean music, clean effects and actuality sound and commentary on seperate tracks, with Time Code matching that of the original master pictures. This arrangement is now increasingly delivered as a series of 'Broadcast .WAV's' on DVD; and we are very familiar with delivering material in either of these ways for our clients.

We can also seamlessly integrate your soundtrack into a custom-designed DVD through our talented DVD authoring-partners, who can also supply small-to-full production pressings and associated artwork.
